Tips for Applying
Tips for Applying Electronically for a Grant from the Community Foundation
- We strongly encourage all applicants to submit the grant application and materials electronically. It is recommended that an applicant send at least the application if not all materials via email. However, if there are items that can not be sent electronically, please deliver or send a paper copy of these items only.
- Before you download the PDF application files, we highly recommend downloading the most recent version of Adobe Reader.
- Mac Users may experience difficulties with saving data in the PDF application. Problems may occur if a program other than Adobe is used to complete the application. If errors still occur, we recommend that you use the Word version of the Minnesota Common Grant Application and submit electronically.
- Organizations that submit the Minnesota Common Grant Application are also required to submit the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation’s Self-Certification Checklist.
- Please clearly name the grant application materials with your organization’s name followed by the application item.
- If your email will not send with all the application materials attached, we suggest that you send more than one email with the attachments.
- The Community Foundation will send an email confirmation for electronic grant submissions to confirm that we are in receipt of the file/s. Confirmations are typically sent within 24 hours.
- Applications will not be accepted after 5:00 p.m. on the deadline date.
- Please do not wait until the last minute to email grant application materials. The Community Foundation is not responsible for undeliverable email messages. If you are concerned about the receipt of your grant application and materials, please call our office and we would be happy to let you know if we received them.
- Please do not send a paper copy of grant application materials if they were submitted electronically.
