The DuSu.Com

The DuSu is the newest initiative underway at the Community Foundation. Scheduled to launch in the second half of 2009, TheDuSu.com will be “THE” interactive portal for attracting and retaining young people in the Twin Ports region.

TheDuSu.com was just one of the seven solutions recommended by the twelve member task force created to determine how we can reverse the trend of young people leaving the Twin Ports, that the Community Foundation is working on implementing.

Designed and maintained by Martin Sawinski, owner of 3Five Designs, along with an advisory board of 12 young adults in the Twin Ports, the site will be a comprehensive, interactive portal focused on promoting and providing information to young people attempting to survive and thrive in the Twin Ports.

Focused on working, living, playing and connecting, The DuSu will highlight ways for young people to find jobs, unique places to live, connect with their peers, discover the breadth and depth of arts, culture and outdoor activities in the Twin Ports and get involved in their community. The site will be a hybrid of partnerships that will elevate current Web site initiatives geared towards living in Duluth along with providing customized content, such as “scenester” blogs, videos

Initial funding for the project has been secured for the site through grants from the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation and the A.H. Zeppa Family Foundation.
